Great job explaining the role of OT in your setting! My Level 1 B rotation was at a SNF as well, and I didn't really think about explaining how increasing activity tolerance, balance, strength, etc. was all working on fall prevention because fall prevention is a really big deal especially in the SNF setting! I also think it is great that your supervisor gave you a lot of experience administering assessments because generally hands-on learning helps retain what you learned and is good real-life experience for what you may be doing when you get a job after graduation! Thanks for sharing and I cannot wait to hear more about it after summer break!
I think you did a good job of explaining how OT worked in your setting. My last fieldwork rotation was at a SNF and with almost every client we saw we worked on fall prevention or fall education. It is something that is so important for those who are in a SNF. By educating someone on falls, hopefully we can reduce their chances of falling again. I am also looking forward to that class when we get back to school. It is an area that I feel like I could grow in. Thanks for sharing!
